Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information GlobalShield ("the Bot," "we," "us") collects when you use it or its companion dashboard (together, the "Service"), how that information is used, and the choices you have about it. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what's needed to operate the Service's moderation and security features:
- Discord account information: your Discord user ID, username, and avatar, provided to us by Discord when you interact with the Bot or sign in to the dashboard.
- Server (guild) information: server IDs, server names, channel and role IDs, and member counts for servers the Bot has been added to — needed to provide moderation, ticketing, verification, and anti-raid features.
- Moderation records: warnings, ban records (including global bans), risk scores, and flags such as "known raider" status, tied to a Discord user ID.
- Security event logs: records of automated actions the Bot takes (e.g. a detected raid or nuke attempt, an invite link removed), including the server, the affected user, and a timestamp.
- Server backups: snapshots of a server's role and channel structure, used solely to restore a server automatically if a nuke attack is detected.
- Dashboard session data: when you sign in to the web dashboard via Discord OAuth2, we receive your Discord user ID, username, and avatar from Discord to identify you, and we set a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not receive or store your Discord password.
2. How We Use Information
- To operate moderation features: warnings, bans, ticketing, verification, and welcome messages.
- To detect and automatically respond to raids, mass-ban attempts, and other coordinated abuse ("nukes"), including restoring a server from backup when necessary.
- To let authorized server administrators view and configure the Bot's settings for their own server through the dashboard.
- To maintain a cross-server reputation/risk system so a user banned for abuse in one protected server can be flagged in others.
- To display aggregate, non-identifying statistics (e.g. total members protected) on the dashboard.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your information to third parties.
3. Who Can See Your Information
- Server administrators of a server you're a member of can see moderation records (warnings, bans) tied to your account within that server, and — if the dashboard is used — the server's own configuration, through the dashboard's per-server Administrator permission check.
- The Bot owner can access all data the Service stores, for the purpose of operating and maintaining the Service.
- We do not share your information with advertisers or unrelated third parties. Information may be disclosed if required by law.
4. Data Retention
Moderation records, security event logs, and server configuration are retained for as long as the Bot remains active in a server, so that moderation history and protections remain effective. Global ban records and risk-related flags may persist across servers to support the cross-server reputation system described above, even after the Bot is removed from a particular server. You can request removal of your data as described in Section 6.
5. Cookies
The dashboard uses a single session cookie to keep you signed in after authenticating with Discord. This cookie does not track you across other websites and is not used for advertising.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- You can stop using the Bot and dashboard at any time.
- You can request a copy of, correction to, or deletion of your data by contacting us using the details in Section 9. Some records (such as global ban history) may be retained where necessary for the security purposes described in Section 4, even after a deletion request, unless removal is legally required.
- Server administrators can remove the Bot from their server at any time via Discord's server settings, which stops further data collection for that server.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under the age required by Discord's own Terms of Service to maintain a Discord account. We do not knowingly collect information from users who do not meet that requirement.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
9. Contact Us
