Terms of Service
Last updated: August 8, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of GlobalShield (the "Bot") and its companion web dashboard (together, the "Service"). By adding the Bot to a Discord server, or by signing in to the dashboard, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Description of Service
GlobalShield is a Discord bot that provides server moderation, ticketing, member verification, welcome messages, anti-raid protection, and anti-nuke detection with automatic response (including global banning of confirmed bad actors and restoring a server from a saved backup). The dashboard is a web interface that displays live statistics and, for authorized server administrators, allows configuration of these features.
2. Eligibility
You must comply with Discord's Terms of Service and be permitted to use Discord in order to use this Service. If you add the Bot to a server, you represent that you have the authority to do so (e.g. as the server owner or an administrator with permission to add bots).
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to violate Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or any applicable law.
- Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the Bot's moderation or security features.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the dashboard, other servers' configuration, or the Bot's underlying systems.
- Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm other users.
4. Automated Moderation Actions
By adding the Bot to your server, you authorize it to take the following automated actions when its detection thresholds are met, based on the configuration you or another authorized administrator sets:
- Removing messages containing invite links, per your server's configuration.
- Issuing warnings and automatically banning users who accumulate a configured number of warnings.
- Banning members involved in a detected join-flood raid.
- Stripping roles from, and globally banning, an account responsible for a detected mass channel deletion, mass role deletion, or mass-ban event ("nuke"), and restoring the server's channels and roles from the most recent saved backup.
These actions are automated based on configurable thresholds and audit-log data provided by Discord. While designed to protect servers from abuse, automated detection can occasionally misidentify legitimate activity. Server administrators are responsible for reviewing and adjusting these thresholds to suit their server, and for manually reversing any action they believe was taken in error where Discord and this Service permit doing so.
5. Global Ban System and Appeals
The Bot maintains a global ban list shared across all servers it protects. A user globally banned via this system will be automatically banned from every protected server (except a designated appeal server) and may submit an appeal through the process the Bot provides. Approval or denial of an appeal is at the discretion of the Bot owner or designated reviewers.
6. Dashboard Access
Access to the web dashboard requires signing in with a Discord account and is limited to accounts explicitly authorized by the Bot owner. Within the dashboard, a signed-in user may only view or configure settings for a specific Discord server if they hold the Administrator permission in that server (or are the Bot owner), verified live against Discord at the time of each request.
7. No Warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will catch every raid, nuke attempt, or policy violation.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, goodwill, or server content, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service — including damages resulting from an automated moderation action, a missed detection, or a failed or incomplete backup restoration.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by removing the Bot from your server or ceasing use of the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service, for any user or server, at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms or Discord's own policies.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
